Your project plan is the map that outlines the entire journey. However, a project is made up of many small tasks that combines together. That’s why we use milestones to get an easier and quicker view of a project’s direction. 

Everyone sets goals but very few achieve them because they make a list for the year and leave it that way. In fact, to achieve your goals, you need to break them down into actionable items over a shorter time frame. When applied in a monthly, or even a weekly manner, you have much more control over what you’re doing. This allows a simpler way to complete your tasks and reach your goals.

Track your important checkpoints and organise your plans with “milestones.” Let’s say “a goal that you want to achieve in a four-week period.”

To-do List Tips:

Milestone.

Use your note pages to brainstorm all your project and list your tasks in order of priority. Try working on the hardest task first to get it out of the way. Making an early win happens to give you motivation for the rest of the day.

Break down your goals into small tasks.

Looking at your never-ending to-do list can be overwhelming, so try focusing on three main tasks each day. Within each of these tasks, write down all the little things you need to do to complete them and tick them off as you go. The power of progress will kick in and you’ll realise you’ve actually achieved a lot!

03.
Stick to the to-do list, but pivot when necessary.

Even the best-laid plans go astray due to unforeseen circumstances. Sometimes, it’s okay to pivot in direction on goals or a project when your plan is not working.

04.
Make progress.

Review each to-do list regularly to ensure you’re making progress on all your goals. An end-date can help provide motivation and help you prioritise. If you haven’t achieved your goal in that timeframe, take time to consider why.

Don’t worry about being a master planner. The most important part in planning is to start. As you develop the habit, you’ll improve along the way.
