Can you tell us more about you and what you do?

I'm Limduey, an illustrator who portrays the story of 'Mya,' the black cat, and the warm daily life with the cat. I create my own little universe through my illustrations and express what I want to communicate through art.

Every artwork tells a story. What inspired your cover design, what narrative or message are you conveying through your cover design, and can you share the creative process that led to its final form?

Looking forward to the day when someone was using this notebook, I imagined the black cat "Mya" in my imagination writing something down in a notebook. Thinking it would be nice to have a space that matches that look and music, the cat wore a headset and drew it while imagining a warm space with sunlight.

How does creativity connect to self-expression for you?

I don't consider creativity much. I project myself to the protagonist in the painting with keywords, scenes, and materials that are inspired by everyday life.

In your perspective, what role does creativity play in empowering individuals and communities, and how have you witnessed this power in action?

It seems to be a piece where you can feel warmth and hope through rich, cozy colours and light. The cat in the painting appears lonely, but I aimed to convey comfort for loneliness by depicting it surrounded by imaginary spirits. I intended to capture the sense of hope and vitality within me through the cat's sparkling eyes gazing off into the distance. My goal was to express a warm and hopeful atmosphere using elements of light, such as spirits and sunlight, within the painting.

In your perspective, what role does creativity play in empowering individuals and communities, and how have you witnessed this power in action?

I believe that I can move people's hearts with the emotion gained through my creations. I have seen the power to be moved and collect donations through painting in a difficult situation.

Have you faced any challenges in maintaining your individuality in your work, especially in the face of trends or external expectations? How did you overcome them?

I think that the expression technique, material, material, and everything in a picture changes with the passage of time and the trend changes. My drawing has changed a lot from the old one and is still changing. Rather than sticking to my existing method, I wanted to draw a picture that more people sympathise with and impress. I found my own way of expression in it. I kept drawing a lot. I've drawn various things and based on them, the technical part of the way of expression has also grown, and I think I came to it chasing a picture that gets more empathy while communicating through SNS.

What advice would you give to emerging artists who are trying to find and express their individuality through their work?

I hope you draw a lot. Draw first. If you think too much about it, you feel lost. When you don't know what to draw, don't think it's hard. If you draw a lot of materials or topics that give you comfort. There will be a day when I will realize what kind of painting I like and what techniques fit me and what I want to express.

What’s the one thing you want to accomplish this year?

I haven't drawn much in the last two years. I focused on outsourcing and had a lot of personal work. I want to paint more. That's all.
